Learn to Run: A 12 week online coaching program for women
All the support, coaching and friendship you never knew you needed.
It’s time to change how you feel about yourself… forever.
What do you get when you sign up to Learn to Run?
The 12 week Learn to Run program has been written by our experienced Level 2 accredited athletics coach to ensure a gentle, safe and fun program for all beginning runners.
When you join Learn to Run, you gain access to a private Facebook group. This will be your team for the next three months where you’ll get to share the journey with other women from all walks of life with the same desire as you… to be the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves possible.
Each week you’ll receive your training plan which includes a variety of sessions designed to build your endurance as well as challenge you both physically and mentally.
Your private group will be facilitated by an accredited athletics coach to help address any questions you may have, initiate discussions about best practice and provide guidance throughout your program. You will also have daily access to Operation Move mentors who are there to cheer you every step of the way and help provide emotional support.
“I had never run before this course, never even attempted to run. I am so incredibly glad I decided to take a chance and sign up.
Physically I feel stronger and fitter than I ever have before. I have lost 5kgs and my skin has never looked better.
I feel really proud of myself. I have a tendency to quit things that I find difficult, and man, has this been difficult at times! But I have never stopped running. I’ve never quit.
I feel a real sense of achievement, especially looking back at those first few runs when 30 seconds seemed like it went forever. I’m a runner now. Thank you so much Katie and Zoey, thanks to your program I have done something I honestly never dreamed possible. I’ve learnt to run.” – Jane
Imagine how far Learn to Run could take you
We’ve all seen them.In the park. At the beach. Even on the streets near your house.Runners.
Trotting along smugly impervious to anything but themselves, like they know something you don’t. Because they do.
They know that running helps shape their bodies, their minds, their attitudes and their entire lives. They know that once you’ve learned to run, your body starts feeling like a different vehicle than it did before. They know that even though it may or may not look the same on the outside, it FEELS so different on the inside.
And you think to yourself well that’s okay for them. They don’t have to deal with a career/family/partner/insert excuse here. They’ve probably been running since they were kids. They probably even LIKED school cross country day.
It’s okay for them. It’s different for you. Right?
I tried 4 times to do couch to 5k on my own, I wanted to run so badly and each time threw it in.
I don’t even know what made me try Learn to Run but it changed my life. It’s a mental as well as physical challenge and the support from the group is what kept me going some days.” – Sofia
“I have gone from barely making 1 minute intervals to 5km in 38 minutes. THAT is awesome!
I am also running 3 days a week and that time is not negotiable. There is a plan and I’m sticking to it! I am down 7kg and from a size 18-20 to fitting into my 16s. I’m also living life bigger. My anxiety is no longer insane. It is there but so much more under control. And I feel like ‘me’ again.” – Katherine
Or is it possible that they started right where you are now?
12 weeks from now you can be a runner too
We know the things that have been holding you back, because they once held us back too.We know how hard it can be to prioritise your health and fitness when you have so many other things going on.
We know you’ve probably tried one of those free apps before, and given up at week 3 because it was too hard, too boring, too lonely and there was no one to ask about that tingly feeling in your foot, or what kind of stretching you should have been doing.
And we know that sometimes you just need someone on your team.
We also know that YOU CAN FIND 30 MINUTES three times a week, and that the time you give to the Learn to Run program prove to be the best investment you ever make in your own health and wellbeing.
90 minutes a week that could change everything… It’s your turn now.
Learning to run is a big brave step. Sometimes it seems like a leap.
To get out there and say I deserve this and I am worth it.
But the best part of Operation Move is that we will believe in you, until you believe in yourself. And we know you can do this because we have coached over 500 people in 2016 and they all started where you are right now and took that first step.
“The awesome thing is that you have a support group all doing it with you, as well as awesome coaches and mentors. You will be cheered and supported all the way through.” – Suzi
Some things people ask us:
I have never run before in my life. What if I can’t do it?
The vast majority of our runners started out exactly where you are now… With little to no experience and the feeling that they just weren’t born to run.
The truth is, very few people are born to be spectacular runners and chances are you know the names of those that are because they feature in the Olympics and other high level competitions.
The rest of us just decided one day that it was worth a try, despite being ordinary everyday specimens. Some of us may have some genetic predisposition to finding it easy, but most of us learn along the way that the rewards far outweigh the challenges and learn to love running as a process which provides a plethora of physical and mental/emotional benefits despite our ordinariness.
We may not be winning marathons, but we are lapping everyone who is still on the couch and you can too.
What happens after I sign up?
Once we receive your order, we will get you your welcome email as soon as possible! We are humans, not robots so it might take a few hours before we get it to you. Sometimes that email can get stuck in your junk folder – so make sure you check there if you haven’t received it. Your welcome email will have instructions to join your private group and we can get started from there!
What level of fitness do I need before I start?
If you can walk, then you are able to take part in our program.
As with all health and lifestyle changes, it is important to see your doctor before undertaking a new program and we recommend a check up prior to commencement of the course to get you started in the best possible way.
In the lead up to your Learn to Run course it is a great idea to try and get out for a half hour walk a few times a week. This helps you create the mindset that your running time is a priority in your week and well as giving you a great head start for the early weeks of the program.
I live in a horrible inhospitable part of the world and/or I hate the outdoors. Can I complete the program using a treadmill?
You sure can. Although we do hope that you’ll discover the joy of running outdoors later down the track because it is a pretty great experience. Really it is. We promise.
I can already run 1-3km, but I would love to get better. Is this program right for me?
Absolutely! We have developed a Beginner and an Advanced option so once you sign up you can decide which one is going to be right for you and your level of fitness.
Why group coaching?
Group coaching allows us to provide high level coaching and support at a fraction of the price you would pay for one-on-one service. Whilst many running coaches charge in the vicinity of $200 a month, for just $21.95 a week you’ll have access to accredited coaches and experienced mentors. On top of that, experience has shown that the added social accountability and friendships within our Learn to Run groups benefit clients in terms of long term success far more than individual programs – everyone does better when they are surrounded by people with similar values who are supporting and inspiring one another.
Go from the person who wants to love running, to the person who does
Running changed our lives, and we believe it can do that for you too. It’s not just physical or mental or emotional. But once you do the impossible, it will change how you look at yourself and your life. You will finally see just how much you are truly capable of.
